Don't Be Afraid To Use The Word "Socialist" When It Is An Accurate Descriptor!

I am sharing with you a letter I received from American Solutions. The point of which is that we should refuse to allow "political correctness" to strip us of the words we MUST USE in order to communicate truths.

>>>>>>>>
American Solutions General Chairman Newt Gingrich recently wrote an article in the Washington Post that has annoyed a few people, including it seems, President Obama.

In this article, Gingrich repeats an earlier assertion that President Obama is "the most radical president in American history" and describes with several examples how the governing team of Obama-Pelosi-Reid operates as a "secular socialist machine."

It appears that describing Obama administration policies as "socialist" is more than President Obama and his defenders can stand. They seek to marginalize any serious discussion of whether President Obama is indeed attempting to impose socialist programs on American society.

Consider President Obama's remarks this past weekend at the University of Michigan:

The... way to keep our democracy healthy is to maintain a basic level of civility in our public debate.... Throwing around phrases like "socialist" and "Soviet-style takeover;" "fascist" and "right-wing nut" may grab headlines, but it also has the effect of comparing our government, or our political opponents, to authoritarian, and even murderous regimes.

... The problem is that this kind of vilification and over-the-top rhetoric closes the door to the possibility of compromise. It undermines democratic deliberation. It prevents learning - since after all, why should we listen to a "fascist" or "socialist" or "right-wing nut?" It makes it nearly impossible for people who have legitimate but bridgeable differences to sit down at the same table and hash things out. It robs us of a rational and serious debate that we need to have about the very real and very big challenges facing this nation.

The President would have us believe that using the term "socialist" undermines democratic deliberation and robs us of rational and serious debate about the challenges facing our country.

We disagree completely and believe that assessing Obama administration policies as socialist or not serves a very useful purpose. We believe that people can learn a lot about socialism when examining many of the Obama administration policies.

Here a few examples:

* The recently passed healthcare bill is a government takeover by regulation of approximately one-sixth of the economy. It will raise taxes by almost $1 trillion dollars over the next ten years and insurance premiums and associated healthcare costs will likely continue to go up each year.

* President Obama supports an economy wide cap and trade system, which he believes will strengthen job creation. Opponents believe that a cap and trade system will kill jobs and lead to government control of the entire U.S. economy, or, in other words, a socialist means of government control and of taxing and redistributing wealth to politically favored constituencies.

* A free market economy is about rewarding companies that produce high quality products at a competitive cost and allowing them to fail when they are unable to deliver value at a price consumers are willing to pay. A socialist approach is for the government to bail out companies with taxpayer dollars and then manage them, even though we already have an established bankruptcy process in this country for the orderly reorganization of failing companies. President Obama chose the socialist approach when he bailed out General Motors and Chrysler.

* During the 2008 presidential campaign Barack Obama said "When you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody". This world view is socialist in perspective, especially when you consider the spreader of the wealth is the federal government. Well it's time to get ready for some more wealth being spread around because the Obama Administration is talking about introducing an entirely new form of taxation to the U.S. It's called the Value -Added Tax (VAT), and it functions as a national sales tax on materials and goods at the production level, which will be passed along to the consumer in the form of higher prices on everything that is purchased.

These are a few of many examples in which President Obama's administration has or is trying to increase the size and power of the federal government in a manner that justifies the term socialist.

We believe the American people can decide for themselves whether certain terms reflect their understanding of reality. At American Solutions, we will continue to use the terms we believe accurately reflect the direction of this Administration.

Over the coming months in this election year we expect a vibrant national debate about the direction of this administration and what words most accurately define it.

Along the way, we will be providing you with updates on the actions of the "Secular-Socialist Machine" and asking for your feedback and help in stopping it.

Sincerely,
Vince-Signature

Who's Gaurding the Gate? Part 1

It amazes me that only six percent of the American population reports itself as atheist and yet they have Christianity on the run! Of all the many issues we should be concerned about in our current American society, the rise of anti-Christian sentiment in governmental policies and politics should be our first concern; yes, even more so than freedom of speech. Why, you may be asking yourself would I say this since freedom of speech secures our right to teach and talk about our personal religious beliefs. It is for this reason, when people are afraid to speak, they don't, and in our current society, speaking the Christian message has become taboo. The result is that the real Christian message is becoming painfully screwed for the enemy is a crafty old dog that breeds confusion; he has Americans defending the wolf in sheep's clothing and slaughtering the sheep! We see a clear example of this in the resent case of the Westboro Baptist Church's protest which took place during the funeral of the young American soldier. Protesters held signs with such messages as "God Hates You" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers". Now you may be asking yourself 'why were these supposed Christian protesters saying such things'. The answer is that they believe that no one should stand in the defense of a country that is willing to allow homosexual citizens a place in society. Wow...without a clear and correct spiritual understanding of the Christian faith, things could start to look a bit murky here. In the case of the Westboro Baptist Church, its gone beyond murky to muddy and with the ACLU, which jumped to their defense, Christianity in America is being thrown beyond the mud, straight into the quicksand!

Perhaps it's time for a lesson in Christianity 101. Let's start at the beginning. God created all of us with a free will so that we could choose between good and evil for ourselves. Yes I believe that acting on homosexual tendencies is an intrinsic evil, but as a Christian, I am to lovingly commend any person who engages in such activity to God. Consider Matthew 22:36-40, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Further, the Lord never said 'I love a few of you enough to give My only begotten Son'; He said..."For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16) We must remember that Jesus told us that he did not come for the righteous, but for sinners. But, let's not get confused, no...no...no, we Christians should not support the gay agenda, (and my dear brothers and sisters, there is a gay agenda which I will talk about more in part II of 'Who's guarding the Gate?'.)

This brings us to the matter of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)which never seems to defend a Christian's right to anything except in the case of such persons that can defame the entire Christian population as did the Westboro Baptist Church. In this one example given, think about the how cunning the enemy has proven himself to be! He has managed to confuse the matter to such a degree that good Christian people are hesitant to speak out about the matter for fear of being linked to the Westboro crazies or the gay rights movement or even as working against freedom of speech. But don't be hesitant, for freedom of speech should not include harassing grieving families during a funeral, but should at the same time allow those Westboro folks to say whatever they want about the funeral in another environment or forum. And we don't have to condone homosexual behaviors in speaking against what the Westboro protesters did! And yes we can defend our nation which does give homosexuals a right to exist peacefully in our society, as it also bestows on us the same rights, (though their are those who seek to destroy us.) And we certainly can love and honor our brave son's who are dieing to defend and promote liberty in this country and around the world! So go on Christian soldiers, and speak about the truth as taught to you by Jesus and let us cry out, 'We are not afraid! We are not afraid, our God is with us!! We go forward in love and peacefulness to FIGHT for our religious freedoms, spreading the gospel as we go!'

The Enemy We Face

It is true that silence is consent, but to be vocal takes so much time...so much energy and Lord knows we all have too much to do! There are after all, family members that need our time and attention, a job to head off to everyday, dishes to be done, laundry to be washed, meals to be cooked, a yard to be cared for etc.etc.etc... We can be tempted to think that this idea of being vocal and getting involved is for other people who have more time on their hands and fewer obligations to meet. But the truth of the matter is that when a crisis arises that is as acute as the fiscal and social upheavals that we Americans face in our country today, our priority list must shift; it must accommodate the time needed to allow us to take our place on the front line of the battle.

This age that we are living through has become the epoch that will define future life in America and speaks volumes about who we are as a people. I cannot help but think of that generation rightfully called ‘Great’, that generation which when faced with fighting the Second World War, understood the necessity of shifting its priorities and rising to the call. They understood the perils of their day. Can we say the same? Do we understand that we really are in peril? The enemy we face today is nothing more than an idea, a way of thinking, a frame of mind, and as such it is much more insidious then any enemy this country has faced in the past. Until recently, this idea has shown itself to be superlatively skilled in taking advantage of our individual weaknesses and problems, telling us what we only think we want to hear and lulling us into complacency by assuring us that our best interests are being looked after and that our every need can be met. Further, with cunning exactitude it, the enemy, has strengthened our complacency by convincing us that our ordinariness has rendered us impudent, telling us that since we have nothing of value to offer, we would be unable to resist its effects even if we had a mind to.

Let it be our prayer that a sink full of dirty dishes will not haunt us to the point of neglecting of our patriotic duties. Let it be our prayer that we will cherish our personal freedoms enough to cast out our lassitude of spirit. And let it be our prayer that the great generation is not behind us but in fact within us.

Against the Wall!

Sometimes I just want to give in...stop caring...stop trying. If I write, it is nothing. If I draw, it is nothing. If I sculpt, it is nothing. Getting my degree produced nothing save an enormous bill! No matter what I do it seems that I have nothing to offer in this world and certainly not in the cultural battle in which our country is engaged. For me even social networking to get the word out produces no effect. None of the information I put on my fb page is even commented on. Is it me I wonder or are most of the people I am affiliated with just disinterested. I know that most of them are not only Christian but active Christians...and yet, nothing!

I confess my frustration at the lack of interest in the Manhattan Declaration. 'isn't this,' I wonder 'the bottom line for Christians?' You know what I mean...isn't taking a stand like the one proposed in that declaration the very same spiritual movement that led thousands of Christians to go singing to their deaths at the hands of the Roman emperors? Yes it is! But now days we Christians are a soft bunch! We thinking that our faith should produce a blessed easy life. Funny, Jesus never said that. He said pick up your cross and follow me. It used to mean not just falling in love with a suffering God, but sharing in the suffering. Now most Christians believe that they don't have to suffer, that Christ did all their suffering for them. We don't understand the love Jesus was speaking about. He spoke of AGAPE (Greek - selfless love ä-gäp, äg-p)He spoke of sacrificial love!

Oh Lord, fill my heart with real agape, then it won't matter to me if I work myself silly and produce nothing, it will only matter that I tried for love of You and my neighbor.

All I can really do is pray. But Lord....do my prayers matter?

Becoming Real

Three days ago, feeling unable to stand anymore, and recognizing my neglectful silence, I joined the Tea Party. I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner.

I sent the following email to the noted FOX network addresses. I encourage others to do the same.[ontherecord@foxnews.com askfox@foxinc.com gaude.paez@fox.com Hannity@foxnews.com Oreilly@foxnews.com]

I cannot express the shock and disgust I feel at FOX having aired the Family Guy episode on Terry Schiavo's suffering, portraying it as a laughable joke. Apparently FOX suffers from an inability to control its sadistic broadcasting schizophrenia, allowing its true eugenic liberal socialist interests to air. This being the case, I will make it my personal mission to point out FOX's illness to every person I am able and aggressively promote both the boycott on all of the Familey Guy sponsors as well as alerting the conservative population across the country that they are being manipulated by FOX. I will stress to my fellow Tea Party Patriots that along with pushing for the changes we seek in the government, we should also expect to see SERIOUS changes in broadcasting and FOX should be our first point of attack!! While the passage of the health care bill showed Americans that the statement 'Democrats for Life' is an oxymoron, the resent Family Guy episodes about Terry Schiavo and Sarah Palin's disabled son says that FOX is true to its name!! FOX owes a very public apology to Terry Schivo's parents and other family members, to Trig Palin, his parents and other family members, and to the American population!!!!!!!
